The update to the management plan for salmon has been adopted by Naalakkersuisut.
The adopted management plan for salmon is valid from 1 August until December 2026.
The changes are as follows:
The South West management area has been split into two areas – Nuuk-Paamiut and South West.
In connection with the division of the management area, the distribution key was also updated.
The salmon season for the Nuuk-Paamiut management area will thus run from 1 August to 31 October inclusive.
Consultation
The draft management plan has been out for public consultation via Naalakkersuisut’s consultation portal. The consultation responses are attached as an appendix.
