Control campaign regarding license and landing

Greenland’s Fishery License Control Authority will in the coming weeks arrange a control campaign with a focus on license and landing in the coastal fishery.

This campaign, which will primarily take place in Ilulissat, Sisimiut, and Nuuk, has the purpose of uncovering whether fishermen remember to bring their license, when they go out fishing and come back to land. The campaign also aims to reveal whether purchasers remember to control that the fisherman has a licence for the concerning fishery.

According to the Government’s executive order number 7 of 4. April 2016 regarding reports of landing fish and fishery products, the fisherman must, according to § 3, submit information like his licence, catch, catch area and the fisherman’s name and CPR-number, and that the purchaser must, according to § 7, likewise submit information like the fisherman’s licence, catch, and catch area, name and CPR-number.
